"It may seem harsh but does anyone stop to think it may have been too hot to enter? Oh wait, the fire marshal states that...

flames too hot for firefighter in full gear"

Tt was said in the article you posted that the police arrived in minutes. but who knows how long it took for firefighters to arrive. When the man initially was trying to enter the home to save his child it may have not been to late yet. There is never going to be a solid answer on that as the police are no fire marshall's to decide what house is deemed to hot to be entered.

The policy should be to allow parents/family no restriction in attempts to save loved ones from their own property. If parents choose stand by and do nothing, fine. If they want to climb in from windows or kick down doors of their burning house, then that's fine too. That father will be haunted for his entire life by this, I certainly would.

This is precisely why I am sick and tired of hearing about how cops are automatically considered heroic. F*ckers!

I'd definitely want to risk my life to save my children too but, that being said...

If the headline had read `Man dies trying to save child as police do nothing`, the ones crying that they did the `wrong thing` would still blame them.

Gotta say, the ultimate liberty is the choice to sacrifice your life to save another. These cops were wrong to do this.
