Dawn kills Box Elder bugs very quickly so I would assume it would kills tiny fleas just as well. I have a huge Box Elder bug problem on my house every year and spraying them with a Dawn solution kills them very quickly. And no, it`s not that they are drowning. It needs the Dawn in the water to work.

kitteh9lives: Pardon me, I stated that clumsily, my intention was to put the vaccine post as contrast to this one, not as equals. The vaccine one is right on target and needs to be spread, the second half of this one could likely have been written by the "new iOS makes your phone waterproof" people.

NEVER NEVER NEVER put anything on burns... just hold for a very long time under a tap. Not sure about Dawn- but washing up liquid won't kill fleas unless they drown in it. A few of the others are okay- coke is acidic so it cleans oxidation and limescale - as Brown sauce cleans badly tarnished metal. Thing is, usually specialist cleaners are cheaper and more effective as they are formulated to do so. Soap ( or detergent) abrasion, eucalyptus oil (solvent , acid and alkali- with enzymes for some other stuff. Get a stock of all of the above and you can clean most things
