Supposing that a woman has some special status "not to harmed" in any circumstance is stupid, unrealistic, and degrading to gender relations.
But it's perfect feminism, so it`s unlikely to change given the dominance feminism has over sex and gender issues.
Its roots go way back, though, and used to make sense. For most of the existence of humanity and for pre-human hominids, people lived in small groups. Dozens, not even hundreds let alone thousands or millions. In those circumstances, the harsh realities of procreation hold sway - a man can breed dozens of children in the time that a woman can breed one - so the survival of the tribe depends on protecting women far more than men.
We don`t live that way now, but that`s a relatively recent change and social norms haven`t changed to match. Feminism has leveraged that in its endless quest for one-way sexism in all things, but that`s not the only way or the best way.
Rationalising is a way to cover up your reason (or lack thereof) for something by constructing a rational reason for it that is false, either because it isn`t rational at all or because it`s not your real reason, or both.

It's disturbing that culture has pushed us to ask this question in the first place. Let`s get back to reason, everyone. Supposing that a woman has some special status "not to harmed" in any circumstance is stupid, unrealistic, and degrading to gender relations. Women have a very real potential to hurt men, just as men have a very real potential to hurt women. Neither are exempt from defending themselves appropriately.

I think it's sexy if a guy doesn`t hit a girl back, just because it shows his restraint and a cooler head in heated situations. It makes HIM the better person. It has nothing to do with shouldn`t, I just like when they won`t.
Your approval wouldn`t help a man in the hospital or the morgue because he didn`t defend himself.
Restraint and a cool head results in the use of reasonable force, not accepting potentially fatal attacks without responding because the person attacking you is in the "right" biological group.
Try re-reading your post with different biological groups. I suggest "black" for "man" and "white" for "woman", since there are some common stereotypes.
