The round outlets. Yes. It sucks when you have an outlet that you can barely reach or you can barely see (without a flashlight) and then you need to somehow feel when the plug will fit and whether or not you have it upside down. I shouldn't need to be a freaking jedi. D:<

Patch, I can think of a couple-o-twenty ways to make that work. Just off the top, it can be inductive(long and not grounded.) Next, if the prongs are stepped in length, they can hit the conductors as channels: The shortest hits the ground, the second, N and the longest, L.
I just don't see a POINT in making it round. Wire is flexible.

@paperduck, That's what I was thinking. Have the ring be hot and the perimeter contacts be ground. However, there are no perimeter contacts in the image. Just the ring. Plus, most places have an extra ground now. How would they add that?
