yah, the Molotov guy is one of his more famous ones. I would have though knock-offs too. Anyone here ever seen 'exit through the gift shop`. great flick even if you have no idea who banksy is.

McGovern: Yeah, I'm not into his art either, but that kiosk would`ve made me stop and take notice. Sure it could`ve seemed like "knockoffs", even to his fans, but for $60. Strike that, I`d have probably haggled him down to $50 or $40.

There were several iconic rodents so it if anyone noticed they might have thought they were knockoffs.

I saw this same experiment when a world renowned violinist played for an afternoon in the NY subways and everyone ignored him. Usually you pay a great deal to see him live. I can't however blame the populace for not recognizing that art as great art. It looked pretty "street-vendor"ish to me, and if you`re not an art fan, you shouldn`t put your nose up at those who would recognize his work. Perhaps if the paintings were incredible oil paintings or water colors, then people may suspect something is abreast. However, spray paint art on the street in NYC, and "Pft I can`t believe you didn`t know who that was!!" seems a bit pretentious to me.
