HolyGod- "We shouldn't have a country where some people have more money than they could ever spend while others starve to death."
The problem is that you start limiting what some people can earn, that $13.5 trillion in total income would become $10.5 trillion....then $8.5 trillion...etc.
It`s not a zero sum game. You limit what people are able to make doesn`t spread the rest around, it limits the total sum as much wealth then never gets created. It`s not a static sum.
HolyGod- "Democrats want to raise taxes a bit to help people more."
No, they want to raise taxes to punish some, and bribe others. (most, but not all)
HolyGod- "Republicans want to lower taxes more."
Most, but not all, realize that we are already taxed too much. That the government is wasting alot, and currupt with alot. If we eliminated waste and corruption, we could cut taxes and still fund everything that NEEDED funding.
"Whereas I consider communism a bad idea in both theory and practice."
There are 155 million Americans in the labor force. The total income in America is around $13.5 trillion. That means if you put everyone's paycheck into a pot and divided it equally everyone would make $87,000 a year.
I am in NO WAY saying I want that. I don`t think garbage men and janitors should make as much as doctors and lawyers. I certainly wouldn`t want to kill myself 18 hours a day 7 days a week for the same reward as someone who flips burgers 40 hours.
I only mention it to show that there is PLENTY of wealth being generated in this country for everyone to be able to have a reasonable life.
We shouldn`t have a country where some people have more money than they could ever spend while others starve to death.
Democrats want to raise taxes a bit to help people more. Republicans want to lower taxes more. That`s all I meant.
