Oh dear, McG. Not often right and wrong yet again. Healthcare in UK is not free, it's funded through National Insurance, into which I paid my whole working life. You`re getting confused (again!) by `free at the point of use`; just like any other insurance type. My regular dental appointment last week included examination, advice, x-ray update and non-surgical periodontal treatment. Total cost to me: $76. Incidentally an OECD survey of 12-year old children recently showed that UK children had nearly HALF the rate of decayed, missing or filled teeth compared to US children; UK kids rated as having healthiest teeth in Europe. Silly posters aren`t a match for cold hard facts.
