@tedgp:

Look up any part of my words and see if they came from somewhere else on the web, they are totally mine. E=MC2 has been around for quite a while, if you don't understand it thats not my problem.

You asked a question and I gave you an answer, my answer, no google required. If it is so easy just to google it, do it yourself next time and spare us your comment. But don`t be a complete dickhead and accuse me of copy and pasting from google when I never did that and was simply trying to answer your question.

@Draculya: I point out for everyone how lucky we got:
This thing was HUGE! A real MONSTER!
It blew up WAY WAY high in the atmosphere.
It fell in a largely unpopulated area.

If it had waited even 5-10 seconds before exploding? The damage would have made Nuclear Bombs look like firecrackers...

Chelyabinsk Meteor Not a "meteorite"! Lolz! Excellent Wiki posting!

Tunguska Event 1908 Boom baby!

So basically it went 'pop` then "pooffffff`?

Some injuries some property damage, no deaths.

drawman61 - what about EASA? Did they see it coming?

Maybe NASA did see it coming, and just didn't care because it`s on your side of the world.

It`s just a theory, but I know how you love theory`s
