RytWing: It's called *evidence*, and if you cared to crack a book or just look it up on the net, you`d find there is absolutely no comparison between an understanding of the facts of evolution and believing the nonsense of religion. People like you keep coming up with the same idiotic statements over and over, and you all seem to think you`re the first to come up with them. Why don`t you give us the old "If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?" just for old times` sake?

Believing in God without having seen or felt or sensed him but relying on someone else to tell you about Him is similar to believing in evolution without having seen, felt, or experienced it, but relying on someone else to tell about it. Anyone here ever witnessed evolution? No? Sounds like the same boat to me.

djwajda: You say that you questioned a God that struck innocent children down. That is not only blaming him for those problems, but judging him for them too.

It's a matter of faith. Retaining faith in the depths of hopelessness isn`t easy, but it`s eventually rewarded.

I do believe that religion is outdated and needs to be left behind but then I used to reason that the human race has other problems too. But then I realised, most of these other problems stem from religion, so I say, believe in a mysterious power if you wish but, organised religion is so obviously a human construct that you would have to be mentally lacking in some way to take religion seriously. Belief in personal god for example suggests delusion, if someone said they believed in faeries, most people would react with incredulity, make it god however and this is somehow acceptable. Nonsense really.
