McGovern1981: "Taxes have exsisted since Ancient Egypt..."
True. Ancient Egypt had lots of different taxes though - but not with real money; in the sense that Egyptians paid each other in goods or labour. So hunters & fishermen paid with food, Carpenters paid with labour & goods. Every ancient households had to pay a labour tax anually by actually going to work in the mines or canals. Alot of wealthy Egyptians also paid poor people to do this - perhaps as a form of taxable deduction. Haha.
I was only focused on the historical aspect of the North American timeline when it came to taxable incomes.

Pretty sure the Dutch 'owned` some pretty important places too byt alas, the timeline only starts after that. Our heritage includes such wonders like Harlem (Haarlem), Brooklyn (Breukelen), New York (Nieuw Amsterdam), Wall Street etc.
