It could be debated whether cops back then were better or worse (or even "much much worse") than they are now, but the point being made was (as you yourself quoted) "Has anyone else seen how militarized local law enforcement has become?"

Consider that force mentality has drastically escalated since 9/11.
The military creed is to protect US citizens but police mentality believes WE are the enemy.
Fight at the polls. Demand that candidates uphold personal liberty.

You can always stop them with a 12-gauge shotgun blast to the face. Even if he's wearing a face shield, the impact will break his neck.

Just to throw this out there...the days of beating blacks and liberals during the civil rights movement? cops enforcing segregation? Billy clubs? was it really that much better in the past?
