Chalk, unless you want to tell me the manufacture of the super capacitor in my car was some horribly filthy process, I'll call bullsh*t.

Following the manual:
-It uses 87, no E-85 allowed. It has been one-hell-of-a long time since less than 650 miles per 15 USgals of fuel. With 3 economy gauges, the one I reset at 5000 miles is still higher than 41MPG at 43000 miles.
-It can go 10000 miles between oil changes, 5000 is recommended.
-It doesn`t just run the engine to charge the capacitor, breaking/coasting also charge it.
-If the engine is warm, cabin at climate control temp and the cap charged, the engine will not idle.
- <=45MPH, it alternates partial gas, full electric, >45, it`s partial electric.

Like any other type, not all hybrids are equal. BMW has one 33MPG and Chrysler and GM each had units <20MPG (WHYTF?!!)

"The Argonne National Laboratory ran a side-by-side comparison of hybrid and conventional vehicles over their entire life cycle, which includes vehicle production, vehicle operation and the energy required to produce fuel for both cars. If you assume that both vehicles travel 160,000 miles (257,495 kilometers) over their lifetime, the conventional vehicle requires 6,500 Btu of energy per mile compared to 4,200 Btu per mile for a hybrid. That higher energy input results in far greater lifetime greenhouse gas emissions for conventional vehicles compared to hybrids, more than 1.1 pounds (500 grams) per mile compared to 0.75 pounds (340 grams) per mile."
