also, it's not all that obvious from the GIF, but you need a 9 volt battery.. the ones here the + and - contacts are on the same side. Saves you a lot of trouble with soldering wires and whatnot..

This works, but its hard as hell to start the fire with it. I used to put steel wool wrapped in dryer lint and press firmly, blow on it when it starts to smoke. Sometimes it catches, most times it just smolders. But it does get hot as all hell.
