I suspect that this is not a situation of "Big Brother" government watching us. More likely, it's an activity carried out by advertising companies. Frankly, I`d rather have gov`t watching because they`re not going to bother me. Advertisers, however, are going to be using the information to tailor their ads and hit us harder with *anything* that they perceive us to have an interest in. We`ll find them sending more ads to our email and our cell phones. You walked into Gamestop with your kid for 2 minutes...you`ll get inundated with ads for games and game systems. I wonder who`s going to be paying for all the cell phone use involved in receiving those ads...

If you use a discount card at a store, you're being monitored. If you use facebook, twitter, instagram and the like, you`re being monitored. People gave up the right to privacy years ago.
The government is NOT monitoring your phone calls or emails. They`ve admitted monitoring DATA. The only calls they monitor are known "flagged" numbers (terrorists, associates of terrorists, etc.). They are not monitoring every day people and do not have the means to monitor every call or email in the country.
