Carmium- there's a lot of art that`s done just for the sake of art and providing some kind of impact on people who experience it. How about that guy that drapes those huge swaths of fabric across landmarks or the one who put the big yellow ducky in major bodies of water? Ice sculptors? Live musicians? There`s commercial art and then there`s Art art. Both valid. This button art can live on in posters and images like we`ve experienced here.

I GET IT!. I think. like if there is a light breeze or something you are supposed to experience the world like you would on drugs or as these are individual atoms? That and buttons or much cheaper than pixels. Wonder if they hand carved the buttons, or if they were old or specific to the person's childhood. Well the fact that it is torn apart is part of the art process that makes it special. You are paying for the experience of the reaction. Just like a movie or a play. Selling the work is gravy on top of the cover charge cut of the door.

Assorted regulars: I think this stuff is amazing, but the "pointlessness" to me is that it's impractical to display at home or a business should anyone wish to but a piece. Once the art show is over, chances are the installations are gone, too. Most artists want to sell their creations and make a living.
