@OldOllie spiral notebooks are an annoyance, but what is really difficult to write in is a 3 ring binder. especially one that has big rings. I am left handed but i do many thing with my right, im sure if i practiced i could be ambidextrous. i do think it is weird watching a lefthanded person write with their wrist curved over their paper. i dont do that.

I never noticed it being particularly annoying to write on the back of pages in a spiral notebook. Why would lefties have a problem writing on the front?

Woo hoo for having less of a neurological bias!
That description was very brief based upon the magnitude of hypotheses that have been committed to hand preferences. One of my favored (and one of the more outlandish) proposals is that left handedness is caused by higher than normal levels of testosterone in utero. This imbalance is purported to slightly mutate the left hemisphere causing a right hemisphere preference. Higher than normal levels of testosterone in utero may also account for why the incidence of female left-handedness is thought to be even less common.
