So teenage girls were stupid vapid bi tches in the 1950's as well?

I`m pretty sure this has been the case since the beginning of time.

Also to add to my comment below, I am pretty sure that people in the 50's had more disposable income than we do today. Taxes were much lower, health care was reasonable (for what it was then), Utilities were less expensive and possibly not taxed, there were no cable, cell phone and internet bills. We have so many more ways to waste money, and many more taxes, fees etc. to eat away at our disposable income.

did mr 1950's have to get a second job to pay for all this new s hit and the massive increase in the powerbill?

At that time, just about all families were single income, with the father being the sole bread winner, and the mother`s job was to tend the home (That`s why she wears an apron all the time). For a typical middle class family the man was paid enough to support the whole family. Also it was just around this time that credit cards were becoming available, although if I am correct, other forms of credit had been around for a while.
