"Why must the president have people helping him with menial tasks? It´s so unfair!"
Like or hate Obama, being President is not an easy job and anyone who actually believes otherwise is an idiot. He did the campaigning, he got the votes, he's now in charge of running a country (no I don`t care if you think he`s doing a good job or not). I see no harm whatsoever in a couple of minor job perks like a damn umbrella in the rain or a luxury vehicle. Like any high earning businessman wouldn`t indulge in the same. Not to mention that half the reason for the jet, etc... is security. Imagine the President taking a commercial airliner for his trips, the inconvenience it would cause to anyone else on that flight and the ridiculous amounts of security and delays. Sure, let`s put him on a public bus. That won`t cause any problems at all!

My only issue with this, I think it's a bit disrespectful having someone else hold an umbrella for you out of command. When I`m with someone I`m dating I`ll hold an umbrella over them but it`s a choice. If I was POTUS (I can`t because im a `dirty foreigner` Brit), I`d never have someone do this. I`d hold my own umbrella or talk in the rain.
That said doesn`t mean he can`t be president or do good job or made a Marine break a code etc. It`s a non issue....
No, it's a minor thing that was blown way out of proportion. When he decides to start pulling active military personnel from front lines in battle to use them as a personal shield while he plays paintball, then maybe I`ll jump on your bandwagon.
