@5Cats I stand corrected it wasn't 7 but this is the statement Police yesterday defended their response to the killing after eyewitnesses claimed they took up to 20 minutes to arrive at the scene.
Assistant Commissioner Simon Byrne, said: `One point I would like to address is around some of the speculation as to how long it took the Met to respond yesterday (Wednesday) as this incident started to unfold.
`We first received a 999 call from the public at 2.20pm stating a man was being attacked, further 999 calls stated that the attackers were in possession of a gun.
`We had officers at the scene within nine minutes of receiving that first 999 call.
`Once that information about a gun or guns being present was known firearms officers were assigned at 2.24pm.
`Firearms officers were there and dealing with the incident 10 minutes after they were assigned, 14 minutes after the first call to the Met.`

Just to note: The "Police Official" said the cops were there in 10 minutes and the situation resolved in 14 minutes. (4 minutes later) That's pretty good, but not fantastic.

The killers only allowed WOMEN to come close to the body, and the crowd obeyed...

The one they`ve named was born a Christian in Kenya but converted to Islam... idk when.

So earlier this week: A Briton killed his two sons in Paris (France) with a knife. Now a pair of Islamist Jihadists kill an off-duty soldier in London (England) with knives...

Yup! Banning guns is the ONLY answer! (/sarc)

Sminky, of course the swear filter won't stop "bollocks" or "wanker", we Yanks tend to think of British swear words as rather charmingly quaint more often than not. XD

I think I heard on the news last night that the suspects were taken into custody rather than killed.

Anyway, to clarify I never said that extremists claiming Islamic motivations for their actions were a total myth. I'm saying the faith itself is no more prone to violence and crazy than any other faith tradition. If there is a religious war going on though it`s a civil war between Muslims over the heart and soul and future of the faith. Sunni vs Shia, the puritanical Wahabbist school verses well, everyone else. We are witnessing the growing pains of the youngest monotheism in real time, and we can`t aid and abet the worst elements in this conflict by Otherizing an entire religion.
