Is there some way to prevent them forming? Like a series of giant walls/nets with funnels to disperse the wind maybe?

In theory, probably. In practice, no. There's far too much energy involved. Maybe something could be done if a hurricane could be extremely accurately predicted far enough in advance and defused in the right place at the right time...maybe. But we have neither the power to deal with them nor the understanding of how that power could be effectively applied if we had it. Weather is complex and powerful. We`re scratching the surface of predicting it, let alone changing it.

I was born in Moore. Don't remember much about it, though.

when i moved to arkansas, i was looking around for a good radio station. i stopped on a commentary about black bears, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, alligators, tornadoes, killer blizzards, and earthquakes.

with all the catastrophes mentioned, i thought it was a joke and was waiting for a punchline. unfortunately, there wasn't one.

all of those lovely things exist (or occur) within the confines of my lovely state.

If you watch the video you'll see he tries to avoid god altogether without insulting anyone.

That`s because it`s Oklahoma, buckle of the Bible belt. Doesn`t change the fact that he said if they prayed more there wouldn`t have been a tornado.
