Left out one I see way too often: "quite" vs. "quiet". The former basically means "very", while the latter is the opposite of "loud".

Also, I saw someone here write "tongue and check" instead of "tongue in cheek", which is just weird.

There, now he has an even 40.

I love picking up other people on their spelling and grammar. I hate being corrected on my own speling and grammar.

He's wrong about another thing. Effect can be used as a verb, as in to effect a change.
