Obviously written by an American, lol. China's army surpasses the US in numbers and force. Hell, Canada`s army (while small) surpasses the US`s in skill and training.

I'd have to point out as far as the politicians are concerned too that if we had been allowed to finish our job the first time(I`m a Desert Storm vet) people like @whodat6484 would not have had to go and do it all over again in the first place.

"USA has a huge military budget and huge numbers, yet can't beat a bunch of chicken chasers throwing stones in the desert."
Wow, you`re a grade A douchebag, do some research. As @djwajda pointed out, IED`s aren`t exactly stones and not too easy to defend againt, I know this from experience. The reason they`ve resorted to IED`s & VBIED`s is because they can`t shoot worth a sh*t. You know those scenes in movies & video games where they`re holding an AK over their heads shooting blindly while hiding behind cover? That`s exactly how they shoot! The first time I saw it in real life I started laughing... in the middle of a firefight. Also, our ROE was bullsh*t and like @AvatarJohn said, you can thank politicians for that.

The problem is that we haven't been at actual war with anyone since WWII. Everything since has been some military action or another. If we were truly at war, it could be ended almost instantly. In other words, if it wasn`t about making money for companies that politicians own huge stakes in, if it wasn`t about oil interests, etc., if was just about "winning", it would take the press of a button. But that`s not what our politicians want. They make too damned much money doing it this way.

Who says we can't beat whom? The only people our military can`t beat is our own Congress, who pulled us out of Vietnam on the eve of victory. Other than that, we pretty much kick any ass we want to.
