It's creepy when you stare up into the night sky and it seems like there are rings dividing the space and they are moving in different directions. Man rural living and vertigo is fun.

When I was a kid (1960's) all the street lights were automatically switched off at 11:30pm. As a special treat,we were allowed to sleep in a tent in the back garden. This usually meant staying awake and looking up at the stars. I have only since seen the sky like that in Africa.
Nowadays street lights are on until dawn, but we worry about wasting the world`s resources.

I lived in a small town in Utah once. We had a power outage and it almost seemed unnatural to see all the stars.
