I think the last line of the article says it all:
Article 1, Section 5 of the North Carolina Constitution requires the state to observe federal law: "Every citizen of this State owes paramount allegiance to the Constitution and government of the United States, and no law or ordinance of the State in contravention or subversion thereof can have any binding force."

I've lived in NC off and on for 5 years (not by choice) and I`m leaving soon (by Choice, thank God!). It`s my DEVOUT Wish never to come back here. In fact, I never want to come back to the SOUTH, because of ISH like this and I`m From the South.
Let me tell you how Intelligent these Bible thumping moral police are. I have to go down to Augusta, GA for a few days. I stop in at a local grocery store, on a Sun, and pick up a bottle of wine (in my state, liquor store closed on Sun, Wine/Beer at grocery store...OK). The clerk tells me she can`t sell me the Wine, It`s Sunday. BUT..she says seeing my shock, if I want there are several restaurants open down the street and they serve alcohol on Sunday. I say, So what you`re telling me is that I can`t buy a bottle of wine, go home and drink it in the privacy and safety of my home, but I can go drink at a bar and Drive home druk. Everyone in line behind me started laughing. Religion should NOT hold public Office!!
