When spinning out of control you should accelerate and not brake

When spinning out of control whatever you do, you should NEVER take driving advice from a teenager. There are WAY too many variables in a skid to have one rule for all situations. Sometimes you accelerate, sometimes you coast, sometimes you brake, sometimes you use just the handbrake, and sometimes you want to lock up all 4 wheels (good luck with that if you have ABS).

In any case, it's usually steering more than braking that will get you back under control.

He wasn't involved, he avoided it. He was a witness though and the video could be helpful.

He should have pulled over but he could have called 911 without stopping. He could also turn over the video later. It would have made sense to stop, who knows what really happened after the fact.
