So, to be plain, first world countries with a higher percentage of armed citizens, on the average, enjoy lower homicide rates. This evidence completely contradicts your statement that I requested a citation for: "The fact that anyone can get a gun will drastically increase the homicide ratio" Please cite some sort of statistically meaningful evidence to support this claim.

So, the question you`re really asking is, should you be able to shoot someone in order to protect your phone/tv/etc? No, you shouldn`t. Your phone/tv/etc is not more valuable than a human life.
