When I was counseling for California I found the younger mothers to be sadly lacking in parenting skills. They needed TONS of assistance. The older moms tended to have their act together. There are always exceptions, of course--I know several. So the debate continues...

I would also like to poinr out that a few years ago it was normal to starta famaily by 20 or so And before that it was normal at 18, then 16, etc. until we're back to the time when we sold women`s virginity as chattel trying to knock them up as soon as we could. Appeals to tradition are not valid.

I would also like to poinr out that a few years ago it was normal to starta famaily by 20 or so, I had my first child at 22, I know quite a few girls who were mothers by 21 and damn fine mothers they are too. My own feeling is that if you squeeze 'em out at 40 or over you are probably too selfish and set to be a mother. but that is not my decision....

I'm waiting for the follow-up report that she was attacked by "unknown assailants" and miscarried due to repeated kicks to the stomach.
