See this is why the US is so messed up. Spraying bullets around and killing innocents is fine, as long as you don't interfere with my right to own property.

The fact that the constitution was AMENDED some two hundred years ago to support the population`s right to keep a militia does not come even *close* to establishing gun ownership as a natural right, and no-one who has gone even slightly outside their comfort zone to read statistics and articles from the other side of the debate can honestly believe that guns save more lives than they destroy.

Even a cursory bit of research makes it abundantly clear that these statistics about "half a million lives saved annually" and stuff like that: total bullwash, figures basically plucked out of the air to counter the very real and measurable costs of private gun ownership which run to tens of thousands of lives every year.

@technophebe....either A or B is fine. You have the right to have a gun...but you also have to deal with the consequences. If you miss your target and hurt someone else, thats your fault. If you hit your target, you still have to deal with that consequence.

Either way, it is your natural right to own a gun.

"Wife shot three times but missed"

So which is the better result, gun lovers:

A) Untrained user panics and fires multiple uncontrolled shots?

B) 21 year old man is killed because he needs mental healthcare?

C) Avoid the question entirely and call me uneducated for questioning your beliefs?

Answers on a postcard :)
