On "biscuit" I want to say it may have had something to do with the French influence in New Orleans, and I'd bet money that early New York (New Amsterdam) gave us "cookie".
"Pudding" here means a sweet gooey desert, and nothing else. For you it can mean Yorkshire pudding or even (GASP) blood pudding, which throws us for a real tailspin! Gotcha on the fanny pack/rubbers thing
I probably would enjoy visiting, ancient stone circles and not so ancient drafty castles are kinda my thing. I`ll have to do that someday...
