I still remember my first bag of swag. Totally random and useless. Oh how I loved it. Especially the xerox copy page of Bob the Angry Flower. He was selling popsicle stick men for five dollars. I tried to barter with him to draw Bob on it for a face and he refused! It was very amusing to both of us. Next year he had a better table and Bob the Angry Flowers made out of felt of which I bought one.

Gerry, I think it's implying that people with "swag" have a promising carrer in the food service industry.

Confused me at first, because "swag" used to just be what you called all the freebies you got at comic/sci-fi/anything conventions.
