@DFWBrysco millions of dollars sounds off for something using conventional servos and fishing line. its only an animatronic. There are more complicated (expensive) robot hands out there.
also, this could be controlled / animated by a computer or remotely. dismembered crawling hand anyone? of course everyone just does CG :D
@NNoamfer It is way too simple for a prosthetic. The only thing correct is bending the fingers, but you also have a wrist, can move each finger sideways, bend the knuckles independently and have even more freedom on the thumb (which you see when the tips dont meet on the Animatronic while pinching)

This is useful for further developing proper mechanics for a prosthetic hand. Also, this is no "too simple" since this is exactly how the real hand works. All the finger muscles are on the forearm, there are no muscles on the fingers themselves, only biological strings that pull. The only difference is that the middle finger and ring finger use the same muscle.
