photomstr theoretical physicists do it a lot. It's not god as you may understand it... i think it stems from the facts that basically math is the cumulative total of human`s pure reasoning (internal), there is no explanation why that should coincide with anything physical (external), but it does, very well. Hence there is a omnipotent overarching law of sorts, and that is best encapsulated in the word god.

I cannot believe such an intelligent man would even use "god" in a sentence. People! There are no gods, alien ufos, ghosts or bigfoot!

Thank you Lissy. And I would tend to agree with you Silver - but I think the public having a grasp of it that is at least equivalent to their understanding of E=mc2 (beyond Einstein sticking his tongue out), would still be preferable to nothing. I'd rather they not be assuming that I`m talking about quilts (or the World`s newest villain - the Knitter).
