The 'feminists` were ridiculous, but so was Thunderfoot`s presentation. It`s going to take more than a few outrageous soundbites to convince me that the `atheist cause` is under siege. I can`t even make sense of what that might mean, anyhow. It should interest atheists more to investigate if there exists any threat against female participants at conferences and move forward from there, instead of sounding rally calls to alienate the noisy feminists ones. Thunderfoot, as far as I can tell right now, is employing the same silencing tactics he attributes to the radical `skepchicks` and creationists.

This guy is a drat nut. No woman is claiming that atheists are rife with misogynists. They're saying that they experience sexism. And most acknowledge that it`s from a nasty, vocal, but small minority. This idiot wants to undermine those claims when, in fact, it`s just common sense. There are always going to be trolls. If you pretend they don`t exist and poo-poo legitimate complaints, you`re just contributing to the problem. This problem does exist, but dealing with it shouldn`t be any different than dealing with it in society at large. The majority of us who aren`t drat nut sexist bigots ought to shut down the small handful of idiots who are, not protect them by pretending it`s the women who have the issue. They wouldn`t have said a word had the problem not been so ridiculous that it was beyond ignoring.
