A great example is a few years back, when I used Facebook, I was one of 10 people in charge of our high school reunion.
Messages I sent to people who were not on my friends list and did not have a network selected (like me) would have cost me $1.00 each.
Not saying everyone would have a situation pop up like mine, but I can think of a few other scenarios where people would want to send out messages like that. Not all are spammers.
But Facebook is charging for SOME messages to be sent... Silly me for leaving out that keyword "some"--- oh wait, I didn't
