Currently - unless they changed it again last night - the ULA states that, while you retain ownership of the images, they are given full usage rights. Something that usually a company has to pay for. I don't give stuff away for free. I canceled my account.

Not really. People just freaked out because of some ambiguous use of language. They changed the policy to use creative advertising based on who you and your friends are following. Not selling your images. Who would want low res mutilated images anyways? Much like the world ending this Friday, just crazy folks being crazy is all.

@ HalfPintRoo: Instagram changed their policies for a couple of days to say that they can take and sell any pictures uploaded to Instagram. Story here TLDR; They've since backed down and reverted their policy due to user revolt
