I was old enough to walk, somewhere between 2.5 to 5 years old. I remember standing in the hospital at some point after the procedure, with a towel wrapped around me. The pain was intense - until the towel touched me - at which point it felt as if my skin were burning, it was utterly excrutiating. I remember each bath I took while I healed. Submerging in water brought the same pain. I don't have any related medical problems now, but I wonder what I`m missing and how it changed me. It was not my parents` right to choose. I don`t talk to them about this. Or very much in general.
