It does however become a problem when these people start forcing their beliefs on others and actively impede scientific progress. That is why this discussion is paramount. The burden of proof is on religious people.

Your statement assumes that there has to be some purpose for life to be here, when there really doesn't. If you`re looking for purpose while you`re alive, how about finding your own purpose like enjoying life or helping the needy, instead of waiting for someone to tell you what your purpose is? I have to say though that if you do not believe in anything after this life, I mean, nothing at all, then why bother? I mean, really, why any of this? The difference is simple. If Hitchens is right we both end up in the same place, if not, we don`t. Me? I`ll choose to believe in God, thank you very much.
