"silicon is not really something you want floating around under your skin"

Silicon is inert... and has an LD50 about 10 times more than caffeine.

apparently they've made a water-soluble silicon, and the traces are magnesium. The whole thing is put in a modified silk patch, which they can adjust in manufacturing to how long it takes to break down when wet.

Kind of neat, but silicon is not really something you want floating around under your skin.

Here`s the link to the story.

"Dissolving" is not exactly the same as "biodegradable." I'd want to know what chemicals were being released into my system before I`d have one of these implanted.
