chalket: Ordinary turkey feathers aren't very expensive, true. But Big Bird`s feathers come from 45lb. male turkeys. Turkeys that large are rare, because almost all turkeys are sent to the slaughterhouse before they reach that size.
That is why Big Bird`s feathers are $1.50 each, they aren`t the smaller turkey feathers, they are much bigger and rarer.

Crakr $1.50 for a dyed turkey feather? I don't think so... Here`s a dozen for $2.50 Link and you KNOW they buy in large enough bulk to bring it waaaaay down from there.

Big Bird is a commie.
If "preaching charity" is enough to be called a commie then the Salvation Army is one of the most notorious Socialist cabals (second to all communist nations of course) to ever have existed. EVEN THEIR LOGO IS RED!
Seriously I'm all for ending the subsidy to PBS and reforming the two biggest items in our budget(I`d prefer they be cut though). But you conservatives have GOT to stop these aimless commie insinuations.
That doesn`t sound unusual to me considering Leo DiCaprio netted $77 Million in 2010.
