saw a video of this five years ago on a military humvee. i highly doubt this will become street legal being how solid rubber tires are illegal because spike strips do not work on them.

Surely just filling a regular tire with a lightweight solid foam would make sure it never went flat

The problem with foam-filled tires is that they build up too much heat from constant, repeated deformation of the foam.
