I've had 2 ordained ministers tell me" Which would seem to contradict: -They had militant priests at the time who didn`t need help. Those guys turned their attention to Reformation at that time and then, were themselves, Reformed. -A couple hundred years earlier, they lost control of one. You know: "Ya` can`t Torquemada anything!" -Crusades? -Their history is THOUSANDS of years old. Judaism and Islam are splinters of a parent religion separated by geography and time. If you said: "Some militant priests stirred up a group of whoever against the so-and-so," maybe but, sheesh, Dude!! THAT was something you were supposed to call a guy out on.

I've had 2 ordained ministers tell me its one of many things they are taught in seminary that is not widely known. Also you can google it and find tons of documentation about it.
