PS: My pre-tax income is, converted to dollars, $26,254.

And to show that these figures are not a symptom of getting an easy ride as a low earner, here are the tax figures calculated for someone earning double what I earn ($52,508).

National Insurance: 9%.
Income tax: 15%.

Do people in your country earning $52,508 pay more or less than 15% income tax?

Do people in your country earning $52,508 pay more or less than 9% of their income on fully-comprehensive health insurance with no co-pay?
