I paid around $300 for a pair of hockey skates that I have used and abused for nearly 4 years now. The rubber coating on the hard plastic toe is falling apart from contact with other skates (easily fixed with a sealant), and I had to replace the steel -once- because of skate sharpening (a $30 investment), but other than that, these skates have held strong and I can probably get another 4 years out of them. How is this related? I probably couldn't play ball for 2 years in these, let alone 4 or 8. Besides, these maybe cost Nike $25 to make after labor, materials and production costs. Its held together with glue and stitching, not rivets and steel. Not to mention La Bron is a douche bag, why would you ever even consider buying footwear with his name on it in the first place?
