There's a shop near where I live that specializes in customizing Jeeps to do damn near anything. For a cool $25k, you too can have your brand-new Jeep outfitted to run underwater, complete with self-sealing muffler in case of pressure loss, self-extending snorkel (up to 35`!!), hardened electronics, and (get this) a built-in continuous-flow breather apparatus for the driver & passenger which is hooked to the snorkel for the engine.

@wsmithpa Wrong it's not the end of a sealed muffler. That is the air intake. And revenantdead I`m not sure who told you that electricity is not needed to run a diesel motor... But EFI has been available with them for a long time. I have ran several fuel injected gas motors underwater without issue. As long as your electronics are sealed tight it really doesn`t matter so long as your intake is above the water level and your exhaust pressure doesn`t stop, your engine won`t fill with water.
