It's way past time when the authorities should be protecting the victims not the perps. If you step outside the law you should not expect any help from that law.

she was clearly in violation of a court order not to speak publicly about the case.

She was never party to the agreement, and I don't think the judge had the legal authority to strip her of her 1st Amendment right to free speech. I think he knew he was in the wrong, and when she called his bluff, he backed off.
