The whole system has healthy bacteria that keep infections from happening so these products are actually the leading cause of NPS or nasty pussy syndrome.
On a side note, "dry" sounds really unappealing...

If you`re cleaning the internal parts of your ears with a cotton swab, you`re deaf because you`ve perforated your eardrums and you will have serious, possibly life-threatening, infections from the bits of cotton you`ve rammed into the internal parts of your ears.

You`re not actually doing that, are you?

Doctors recommend not putting any objects inside your ear, not even rarely to remove excess wax let alone routinely.
