Yea I love them! Only I wish they would step up the science a little, I always feel that they are patronising me, obviously they aren't as its a children show but still!


I liked Miodownik`s lecture (particularly the bit where he explained how small creates like spiders with a high surface-to-volume ratio can survive falls from incredible heights, whilst larger creatures like elephants couldn`t handle a drop even as much as humans can tolerate). The RI lectures can be a bit hit and miss, though. There was one a few years ago called something like "the war between plants and animals", that had a biologist talking about different defence mechanisms evolved by plants and herbivores over millennia. It could have been quite interesting, but somehow she made it really dull!
