@MacGuffin: If Neil deGrasse Tyson is a "blowhard", as you put it, then the world needs more "blowhards" like him. He speaks out about how the US has forgotten what has made it great, its education, science, and creativity.
You say he, "doesn't appear to do anything all that useful himself", but that only demonstrates how little know of what he has done. For example, did you know that he has testified before the Senate`s on the importance of education and science? There`s more too, look it up.
You attempt to diminish what he`s said by saying he`s, "Hardly finding the cure for cancer", but by that absurdly high standard you diminish almost all tasks, don`t you? What he`s pushing for is the kind of educational and monetary support from the government that could bring about that cure for cancer, so it`s practically the next best thing!
I don`t know who pissed in your cereal, but you`re taking it out on the wrong man.

MacGuffin - sorry for the late response. Yes, the DeGrassi comment was for you. But: and actually going out of your way to seek attention by constantly publishing ever minutiae of your life on Twitter
What is there about this that separates him from any of the other celebrities that anybody 'follows?` I expect a full report from you by Monday.

@MacGuffin What you're doing isn`t really arguing with someone, it`s more trying to make the post with the mosts words in the least amount of time. (All of which are not based on facts, but more on your opinion and information you pull out of thin air.)
It`s fine if you want to discuss something like this, but what you`re doing is more like a "NANANA IM RIGHT YOUR WRONG NANANANA"
Wikipedia's great, isn`t it? You forgot to mention: "2000 Sexiest Astrophysicist Alive, People Magazine", though. Please, NDT - just piss off back to your day job boring schoolkids. I`ve a feeling they couldn`t stand him at NASA, and that`s why he no longer works there but is in a dead-end job running a planetarium.
