I believe it is best to tie a tourniquette bandage above the wound to control damage and just hope your friend wil only lose his limb. Also, a lot of the poisons are not of the kind that coagulate the blood. iirc, most snake venoms are neurotoxins, wich can be far more dangerous. Also, when the blood coagulates this fast, the clot will very likely stay local and again, with some luck the person that is poisoned will only lose a limb.

Why would I want to get poisoned too?
Venom is not poison. The (digestible) proteins that make venom do its thing are actually safe to consume, assuming you don't have any open wounds in your mouth/throat etc.
