The males will go independant. If you try to keep them when they're ready to leave they`ll get agressive so it`s best to just let them go when they`re ready. The females a good life-long pets. And they`re clean. Little shedding. Automatically litterbox trained but without the bad cat odor. cheep to feed - whatever you`re having. But you have to child-proof your house. Their little hands can and will get into EVERYTHING. And they can climb to any cupboard height and some have learned to work combo locks. Very clever.

(Of any colour) On the other hand, skunks make good housepets! Again, so I`ve read... Hummm, I`ll just stick with kittehs, thanks.

Admittedly that's in the 3rd world not here. But any wild animal can carry disease. A tame racoon is a safe, wonderful, {high maintenance} pet.
